COMMUNITY BASED CONSULTANCY SKILLS

KARDS is a community development consultancy inaugurated in the year 2002 by Koinonia Community, a lay Christian organization implementing projects of human development in Kenya, Zambia and Southern Sudan.

KARDS is an empowerment tool for communities, Faith Based Organizations, Community Based Organizations, Non Governmental Organizations and Corporate Institutions in Africa. It has special focus to build the capacity of organizations through provision of Training, Research and Consultancy Services.

Course Objective

To orient participants on the importance of integrating various development techniques in a participatory approach to community mobilization and projects implementation.

Introduction to Participatory Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation (PAME)
The Concept and Practice of Participation
Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)
Participatory Data Collection
Participatory Action Research (PAR)
Report Writing
Community Development Organizations
Conflict Management
Participatory Action Learning (PAL)

A fee of KES 9,000 is charged per participant, this cost is inclusive of Professional fees, Stationery, Meals and Certificates. Certificates will only be issued to those who successfully complete the training. NB: For those who intend to cater for their own meals a fee of KES 7,500 will be charged. Accommodation facilities can be pre arranged upon timely request.
